Basin Recreation’s 5th annual Swing for Sports scholarship fundraiser is set to take place on Wednesday, September 27th at Canyons Golf Course. This event works to support our community by raising funds for Basin Recreation’s youth sports programs, which give underprivileged youth the opportunity to stay active year round for an affordable fee.
With a 9 AM shotgun start, this four person scramble tournament will have experienced and armature golfers alike enjoying a little friendly competition. Course games and prizes will add a little extra excitement for the participants, and at the end of the day, the foursomes that conquered the course will be announced as winners. Teams and individuals are welcome to sign up on the Basin Recreation website.
The Snyderville Basin Special Recreation District – better known as simply Basin Recreation – is responsible for providing the local community with the best possible recreational experiences while enjoying everything the outdoors has to offer. They are fully committed to offering high-quality local parks and fun for the entire family, young and old alike. They are responsible for maintaining a long list of recreational areas and trails and count fitness classes, batting cages, golf, and aquatics among the many activities available to the public.
Basin Recreation has been supporting an active and healthy community in one form or another since 1986, continuously working to grow the services they offer and open up even more of our gorgeous parks and trails to every member of our community.
Canyons Golf Course is a gorgeous spot to get in a little tee time and offers breathtaking views to go along with its 18 holes. Made up of over 550 feet of elevation changes throughout and a variety of different turfs as you progress from one hole to the next, the course offers a fun and challenging game. Designed to be fully traversable using a golf cart, Canyons has something to offer for each and every golfer.
Those hoping to get involved with the Swing for Sports tournament will be asked to dress accordingly, adhering to Canyons’ dress code of collared shirts and appropriate footwear. If you’re not familiar with standard golf attire, their dress code standards are laid out on their website. This is also a good spot to familiarize yourself with the course, its location, and its other policies ahead of the September 27th event.
