On Sept. 9th, 2022, Utah’s 40 Women OVER 40 will host its Celebration Gala to recognize the efforts of 40 women over the age of 40 and their professional contributions.
The Nexus IT team is honored to support such an important Utah organization and is looking forward to finding out who has been selected for the inaugural iteration of the list.
Utah’s 40 Women OVER 40 was founded by Robyn Cohen, Diane Acevedo, and Julia Deaver to honor the efforts of the roughly 83 million Americans that are women over the age of forty.
Despite the size of this particular demographic, they are often overlooked due to biases about age and gender. Even so, the average age of a female entrepreneur is 42; the average age of a female CEO is 48.
At the same time, Utah has one of the country’s most significant wage gaps, with women making just $0.69 to their male counterparts’ $1 on average. That’s why Utah’s 40 Women OVER 40 team is committed to highlighting and promoting the efforts of women over forty.
According to their website, Utah’s 40 Women OVER 40’s mission is:
“Representation Matters. Age, race, skill, experience, opinion, and thought matter. We want to acknowledge and celebrate women in their 40s, 50s, 60s, & beyond! We want to be inspired by women taking chances, changing lives, and making an impact later in life. We envision a growing community of women over 40, celebrated for their distinct accomplishments and success stories.”
